- james bellinger Review added: 2018.04.06★ ★ ★ ★ ★Lovely mannor. Very traditional feel. Staff are very good as you'd expect. Food, which they grow or source locally is excellent. The garden is beautiful. We did the Weir wood 5 mile walk which was very nice.

We started with a walk around the garden, which was lovely and clearly well maintained. Followed that up with G&T in the sun where the staff then asked us about our meal and wine choices. We had booked the taster menu, all the dishes were very nice with the duck being a highlight and an explosion of flavour. If I was being hyper- critical (and this is Michelin star, so can), I thought the scollops were over done, which is a shame. The coconut and coriander sweet was a triumph, and a perfect example of why the taster menu is an excellent way to try food. I wouldn't have chosen it, having been given the choice, and I would have been missing out on an exceptional desert - much better to be told what to eat in that regard! We asked the Sommelier to pair or wine and he chose extremely well and kept our glasses topped up! Our visit to Gravetye was very enjoyable and we look forward to visiting again one day.
